There are tricks to finding hot selling affiliate products to promote. There is little reason to spend your time and money trying to sell something if people don't want to buy it. The first step in researching products is to determine how great a demand there is for the product. Then it is time to study the level of competition for it.
The next consideration we must make is to analyze the product and see if it meets the so called Gatekeeper requirements. These three requirements can be summed up it three words: needs, wants and expectations. There must be a high level of each if we want to get sales from our advertising efforts.
The needs requirement is the basic motivation the customer has for seeking out a product. The wants are more broad based and involve choice. Expectations are the results the consumer expects to get from the product.
Once a product has been analyzed for its three major components, it is time to discover what your market share in the product is. You will first look at the amount
of competition there is for the product. After that, you go back to the customer wants and determine if there may be a market segment that you can possibly dominate with your particular product.
Another factor to consider is general interest. Sometimes a product that is not currently a hot seller has a high general interest rating. Many advertisers are pushing it or a similar product and many consumers are purchasing related products. If there is a high general interest quota, you might consider getting into that market.
Next comes the stage where we collate all of the collected data and see how it all fits together. If a product has very low demand, there will obviously be little conversion into sales. If there is too much competition, you will be getting too small of a market share to make pushing that product viable.
Now pay attention to your advertising dollar. You need to get a significant return on your advertising investment or you are wasting your money. No amount of advertising is going to pay off if there is little or no general interest in a product combined with poor existing sales.
